ICA is a tuition-free public charter high school and open to all students.
The ICA School of Music is a very special place that offers a cutting-edge curriculum not available in most school settings. This program is about training the next generation of students for the contemporary music industry. Addressing the dynamic and changing landscape of the music profession, the program focusses on pop, rock, Jazz, folk, latin, R&B, and other contemporary genres to serve students who are interested in the non-traditional music scene.
Students will take foundational classes that every musician needs and will then be able to select from multiple tracks including a vocal or instrumental performance track, music composition track, or a music technology track. Students will participate in small and large ensembles in a variety of styles with lots of performing opportunities.
ICA offers a high-tech 21st century curriculum in technology and composition that includes commercial composition, songwriting, film scoring and recording, sound engineering, contemporary arranging, orchestration, and computer production. A state-of-the art recording studio will be available daily for students in this program. Students will have the opportunity to develop their skills in live performance and multimedia arenas as they collaborate with musicians, dancers, gamers, animators and more.
