In a heartwarming celebration of talent and community spirit, the students of ICA presented a successful and memorable Holiday in the Marble Room dinner show, delighting attendees with a stunning array of performances that included festive dance routines, powerful vocal performances, theatrical skits, a stunning art gallery, and smooth jazz tunes. All proceeds to this event served as a fundraiser for each of the art departments at ICA to purchase new equipment, programs, and materials for their courses.
Held in the school’s grand lobby on the evenings of December 19 & 20, the event brought together students, parents, community members, and faculty for a festive celebration of the season. The dinner show, which has become an annual tradition, is a highlight of the school’s fine arts departments and serves as an opportunity for students to showcase their work from the semester.
The School of Art and Design showcased artwork that had been completed throughout the semester in a grand gallery at the facility. Artwork lined the upstairs hallway where students stood proudly with their pieces. This gallery also included a silent art auction, Deck the Halls, where attendees could bid on custom painted skateboards by students in the department. We are proud to say that each and every skateboard was sold for a very generous price, most being purchased before the end of the first show.
The School of Dramatic Arts presented a performance of A Christmas Carol. The performance included costuming, dramatic lighting, and a warm sense of familiarity as the students performed this holiday classic. For many of these students, this was their second performance of a theatre production ever. The performance was met with a grand applause as the students took their bows.
The School of Dance performed both a ballet and tap performance at the holiday show. In their tap dancing rendition of "Jingle Bell Rock", the students showcased their impressive footwork and rhythmic precision, effortlessly tapping in sync to the upbeat melody. The performance was filled with infectious energy, adding a playful twist to the beloved holiday song. This was in contrast with the ballet performance which showcased both grace and precision as students performed a rendition of "Skating". Both performances proved the skill and talent that lies with the students in our Dance Department.
The performance also included a special performance by the school's show choir, Vocalocity. The group performed hit singles like "Holiday Road", "White Winter Hymnal", and "A Glee-Ful Christmas". Students in this club come from all different departments of ICA and have performed many times this past semester. Their performance was memorable and left the audience full of holiday spirit.
Overall, this first annual Holiday in the Marble Room was a performance to remember. Students and faculty members are already looking forward to planning the 2025 show. Thank you to the local community for the support they showed this school. A special thank you to Mr. Nick Perry for coordinating and directing this amazing event. From everyone at ICA, Happy Holidays!
